Update 3/1/26:

In February 2026, the Berkat Ambon Volunteers once again visited the family of Mr. Yosias and Mrs. Yuni Latumeten to see their condition firsthand while bringing donations such as rice, eggs, and other daily necessities to help support them. Several years ago, Mr. Yosias injured his leg after being pierced by iron, which led to an infection and eventually required amputation. Currently, he is only able to use a wheelchair. Mr. Yosias hopes to have a prosthetic leg so that he can be more active and improve his mobility.

Mrs. Yuni, Mr. Yosias’ wife, has been suffering from diabetes for the past few years. Her leg is also at risk of amputation because the sole of her foot has developed an open wound. Due to their very limited financial situation, Mrs. Yuni has not been able to receive adequate medical treatment and can only afford basic care. Some time ago, Berkat Ambon provided medicine and wound-cleaning supplies to help prevent the wound from worsening. Mrs. Yuni runs a small business to try to meet their daily needs. Let us pray that the Lord will help provide for all the needs of this family and that Mrs. Yuni will be able to receive proper medical treatment.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
