Vibelia Tepal

Updated: Sep 24

Volunteers from Berkat Ambon visited Mrs. Vibelia Tepal, 28 years old, who is currently hospitalized due to abdominal swelling and leg edema caused by fluid buildup in her abdomen. Doctors have advised that she urgently undergo a fluid drainage procedure, which involves medical costs that are quite burdensome for the family.

Due to financial constraints, the family has not been able to settle outstanding BPJS (national health insurance) payments, which amount to approximately IDR 3.8 million, preventing her from receiving proper treatment. Mrs. Vibelia lives in the village of Hulaliu, and whenever she experiences pain and shortness of breath, she must be rushed across the sea to Tulehu just to receive basic medical care. Even while still unwell, she has had to return home to the village. Let us pray that God will open a way for Mrs. Vibelia to settle her BPJS debt so she can receive the medical treatment she needs.

Update 9/21/25:

A few days ago, Mrs. Vibelia returned to her village, but now she has to cross the sea again to go to the hospital. The fluid buildup in her stomach must be drained immediately, but once again, financial difficulties stand in the way—outstanding BPJS payments, surgery costs, albumin transfusions, and more. The Berkat Ambon volunteers met Mrs. Vibelia at the hospital, gave a donation, and prayed together, asking that God open the way so that Mrs. Vibelia can quickly receive proper medical treatment and recover soon. For brothers and sisters who feel moved to help ease the expenses needed for Mrs. Vibelia, you may contact Berkat Ambon Messenger. May God bless us all.

Update 9/22/25: We thank all donors, and the donations has been given to Mrs. Vibelia. The doctor has recommended that fluid drainage be carried out immediately, but the treatment costs are quite heavy for the family. Mrs. Vibelia currently lives in Hulaliu, and whenever she feels ill and experiences shortness of breath, she has to be rushed across the sea to Tulehu to get minimal treatment. Even then, while still unwell, she has to return to her village. At present, Mrs. Vibelia must undergo a medical procedure to drain the fluid, but once again she faces financial difficulties, as she also needs albumin transfusions costing about Rp. 2 million per bottle. Brothers and sisters who would like to share love and help ease Mrs. Vibelia’s burden may contact Berkat Ambon Messenger. We stand together, support one another, and no matter how big the burden, we can overcome it.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
