Rayyana Aurora Sariman
Updated: Sep 23

According to the information received, Berkat Ambon visited baby Rayyana Aurora Sariman, who was born on September 2, 2026. Aurora was briefly able to return home because she could not remain in the hospital without her parents making a decision regarding surgery. She has a diaphragmatic hernia, which is causing difficulty breathing and requires her to be placed in an incubator.
Because she began experiencing severe breathing difficulties again, Rayyana was brought back to the hospital and admitted. The doctor recommended that she undergo surgery as soon as possible. The family was advised to go to Makassar, considering there are currently difficulties with flights to Jakarta due to a volcanic eruption.
However, because of the family's financial limitations, no action has yet been taken to help Rayyana. Since Berkat Ambon volunteers were unable to visit Rayyana in the hospital, they met with her father and mother outside the hospital, as they had just returned from seeing Rayyana. Berkat Ambon will help the family find a place to stay in Makassar once the tickets are available. At this time, what is needed to transport baby Rayyana includes tickets for the doctor, nurse, and accompanying family member, as well as a supply of oxygen cylinders, which will ultimately be determined by airport quarantine authorities. All of these expenses can certainly be covered if we all come together to help Rayyana's father and mother. May the Lord Jesus move all of our hearts to generously share and help.
Update 9/13/26:

The tickets have now been purchased thanks to the donations and generosity of family and friends. A donation of Rp 4,450,000 from Berkat Ambon has also been given to Rayyana’s mother. Today, we received an update regarding Rayyana’s departure. We are currently waiting for the incubator to be prepared by the hospital. The round-trip tickets for two medical escorts, two family companions, and the oxygen tank have all been arranged and are ready. We continue to ask for everyone’s prayers and support, dear family and friends, as we go through this process. May everything go smoothly and may all of Rayyana’s surgeries be successful.
Update 9/17/26:

Finally, baby Rayyana Aurora Sariman, just 15 days old, was able to travel to Makassar for further medical treatment.
After all the necessary preparations were completed—including the incubator, accompanying doctors and nurses, and oxygen provided by the airline—baby Rayyana’s journey was able to proceed safely, despite the very difficult and dramatic circumstances. Baby Rayyana was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, which has made it difficult for her to breathe.
Berkat Ambon helped facilitate baby Rayyana’s journey by providing a donation of Rp4,450,000 from generous donors and arranging a place to stay at a Rumah Sehat during her treatment in Makassar. Volunteers from Berkat Ambon also accompanied the family to the airport. Berkat Ambon would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated and supported baby Rayyana during this difficult time. Let us continue to pray that God will guide and intervene throughout every medical procedure and treatment, and that He will give wisdom and strength to the doctors and medical team caring for baby Rayyana.
