Novi Charles Serhalawan

Berkat Ambon Volunteers visited the home of Mr. Novi Charles Serhalawan to bring him the medications prescribed by his doctor. Some time ago, Mr. Charles had to undergo a surgical procedure on his lower back for catheterization to drain fluid from his kidney. Berkat Ambon helped purchase the prescribed medications because of the family's very limited financial situation. Praise God, the fluid in his kidney has significantly decreased, and the doctor is now focusing on healing the wound from the catheter removal. In a few months, a CT scan will be done to determine the next medical steps.

Update 2/8/26:

In February 2026, Berkat Ambon Volunteers were once again able to visit Mr. Novi Charles Serhalawan, 49 years old, and bring donations to help ease his daily needs. For nearly a year now, Mr. Charles has been suffering from kidney problems involving stones and fluid buildup.

A few months ago, Mr. Charles underwent his first surgery to have a catheter inserted to drain the fluid, and he will undergo a second surgery to remove the kidney stones. Let us pray that God will guide and be with the entire medical team—doctors and nurses—so that all medical procedures will lead to healing for Mr. Charles.
