Livia Siwabessy

After receiving information from Livia Siwabessy, Berkat Ambon volunteers visited Maria Maturan, who lives behind Korem Batu Gajah. Maria suffers from acid reflux and has previously seen a doctor, but due to financial constraints and the fact that she doesn’t yet have BPJS health insurance, she has not been able to return for further check-ups at a doctor, hospital, or clinic.

She often experiences symptoms so severe that it leads to shortness of breath, making it difficult for her to sleep. Maria lives with her older brother and the Talis Maturan family. Mr. Talis works as a construction laborer. Maria’s husband and child are currently in Namlea.

Her heartfelt hope is to be able to see a doctor again and receive medication to ease her discomfort. Berkat Ambon visited her to pray and offer support, and we are also working on helping her obtain a Family Card (KK), so that—God willing—she can get BPJS health insurance. For those who feel moved to share love and support for Maria, please contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
