Update 8/18: Volunteers from Berkat Ambon were able to have a video call with Mrs. Leonora Sopamena, who is being treated at Tarakan Hospital in Jakarta. On July 9th, Mrs. Leonora underwent surgery to remove a tumor attached to her intestines. However, a few days ago, her surgical wound became infected, and she was readmitted to the hospital. Mrs. Leonora's condition remains stable. We hope that everyone can support and pray for Mrs. Leonora’s swift recovery so she can return to Ambon. Update 10/3/24: Leonora (Lenny) Sopamena has successfully undergone surgery to remove the lump. However, after the surgery, her condition has slightly deteriorated. Early this morning, she was scheduled to return to Ambon, but the airline refused to allow her to fly due to her weakened condition upon arrival at the airport. Currently, Mother Lenny has returned to the hospital. Our prayers are with her, may Lord Jesus help Mother Lenny and provide the best for her.
Update 10/4/24: Please include Lenny in your prayers; she is currently in critical condition. Only the love and mercy of Lord Jesus can help her now. Lord Jesus, please help Lenny and provide the best for her.
Update 10/7/24: Rest in peace, Leonora Sopamena, one of our cancer fighters who fought for healing. Her tumor had been removed, and we believe that Leonora Sopamena has healed in eternity. The plan for Lenny's return from Jakarta to Ambon on Thursday morning was rejected by the airline, but today Lenny has returned to the Father's house forever. The huge costs for returning Lenny's body is greatly needed. To our brothers and sisters who would like to share and ease the burden of Lenny's family together with Berkat Ambon, please contact us. May Lord Jesus give strength and comfort to all of Lenny's extended family.
Praise the Lord, Leonora's body is ready to be sent on Monday, October 7, 2024. Brothers and sisters who wish to help the family can message through Berkat Ambon messenger.
