Updated: Nov 22, 2024

-------- Update 11/16/24:

RIP Keysha Ode. Little Keysha has finished her race and feels no more pain, healed in eternity. May God give strength to Mom Ana Ode Sabani.

Keysha was in the ICCU and passed away at approximately 2:30 AM WIB. Her body is currently being prepared to be moved to the morgue. We are accepting donations to assist with the transportation of Keysha's body. Those who wish to help Keysha's family can contact the Berkat Ambon messenger. May the Lord Jesus love and bless us all.

Update 11/18/24:

Praise the Lord, the hospital bills for Keysha Ode, funeral arrangements, and burial plot costs have all been fully paid by Berkat Ambon. The total expenses amounted to IDR 8.5 million.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated through Berkat Ambon. The tickets for Keysha’s mother to return to Ambon are all prepared. May God provide strength and comfort to Keysha’s mother and the entire extended family.

----------

The parents of baby Keysha Ode, born in Ambon on January 20, 2024, contacted Berkat Ambon. They live in Tantui, Kampung Jawa Atas. Keysha's father, Farul Ode, is 35 years old and works as a motorcycle taxi driver.

Keysha has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, and the doctors have recommended that she be referred outside of Ambon for surgery. However, the family cannot afford the expenses due to financial limitations.

If anyone is willing to help with Keysha's travel expenses, they can contact Berkat Ambon. For accommodation at the hospital, Berkat Ambon has arrangements with shelters in Makassar and Jakarta. May the Lord Jesus make a way so that Keysha can receive treatment as soon as possible.

Update 9/22/24: According to the examination, Keysha has a heart leak, but there is also an issue with a blood vessel and fluid in her head. They are planning to do another echocardiogram. May the Lord Jesus bring good results after the echo. Keysha is still experiencing seizures. The prayers of many for Keysha are being heard and answered by the Lord Jesus. Keysha will surely recover. May the Lord Jesus bless and strengthen Keysha's parents and the entire family, keeping them healthy so they can continue to care for Keysha.

Update 9/24/24:

Keysha Ode needs to undergo another echo and must be referred outside of Ambon for further treatment. The doctor explained that Keysha's journey requires medical assistance and an oxygen tank. Berkat Ambon has already contacted the shelter in Jakarta, and a place for Keysha has been arranged in case she is referred. The cost of Keysha's and her mother's tickets has already been covered by donations, but funds are still needed for medical support, a companion for Keysha, and the oxygen tank.

When Berkat Ambon visited Keysha earlier, her breathing was still labored, and according to her mother, Keysha's vision seems to not be functioning properly, and her leg movements are not yet like those of other children her age. Keysha’s mother said that this is due to the fluid in her head, as explained by the doctors.

Let’s pray for the best for Keysha, that the Lord Jesus will help her, and that all of Keysha's needs for her journey will be provided in miraculous ways. For those who wish to help Keysha, you can contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

Update 9/28/24:

Keysha is now ready to be referred for further treatment. The family is currently preparing all the necessary documents required for her stay at the shelter in Jakarta. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for providing all the needs for beloved Keysha.

Update 10/13/24: Thank you so much to everyone who continues to donate through Berkat Ambon, allowing us to help those in need. Praise the Lord, Keysha and her mother, along with the accompanying nurse, were escorted by Berkat Ambon volunteers to Pattimura Airport and have now arrived in Jakarta for treatment at the Harapan Kita Heart Hospital. May Jesus help the entire treatment process for Keysha until it's completed. Berkat Ambon helped cover the round-trip ticket costs for Keysha, her mother, and the accompanying nurse. Those who wish to assist Keysha's mother with expenses during their stay in Jakarta can contact us.

Update 10/14/24: Keysha has been having seizures. The doctor had pulled out her NGT tube, so she had to go to the hospital to have it reinserted, which cost 250,000 IDR since it was not covered by BPJS. When Keysha drinks from a bottle, she often chokes, which causes her to have difficulty breathing. At the shelter where Keysha and her mother are staying, the cost for food and other necessities is 15,000 IDR per day. Keysha's supply of milk is only enough for at most two more days. She drinks milk 8 times a day, with 60 grams each time. When they went to the hospital, they asked if the milk could be provided by the hospital, but it turns out that the hospital does not provide it. Let us all pray that God helps Keysha and sends all of her needs in miraculous ways. Those who wish to help Keysha can contact Berkat Ambon.

Update 10/15/24:

Right now, Keysha is undergoing an echocardiogram to determine what actions need to be taken next. Keysha needs Infatrini milk, which was prescribed by the doctor from Ambon and costs around 200,000 IDR per can. In Jakarta, it is not provided for free, so it has to be bought. Those who want to help Keysha can contact Berkat Ambon. The prayers of many people will change Keysha’s situation for the better.

10/16/24: Keysha was admitted to the emergency room last night due to seizures, and early this morning she was moved to a room because today she will be examined by a neurologist. We are grateful, knowing that there is always a good purpose behind everything God does. May God give Keysha’s mother good health and strength to continue accompanying her, and may God also give her father in Ambon encouragement and strength to get through all of God's processes.

10/26/24: After a few days of treatment, Keysha was allowed to go home. The doctor recommended changing her formula milk, as her current one is causing excess mucus. The suggested milk costs around 200-400 thousand rupiahs, and according to the doctor’s instructions, Keysha needs to drink it 8 times a day (details attached). In addition to formula milk, diapers, and other essentials are needed, while Keysha’s mother, who is caring for her, is not currently working.

Update 11/1/24: Keysha was admitted to the hospital for five days for a bronchoscopy to examine her respiratory tract and lungs due to excessive mucus. The results showed no narrowing in the respiratory tract, so there’s no need for laser treatment. Keysha is expected to be discharged tomorrow. She will return for a follow-up with the neurologist on November 8, and afterward, she will see a cardiologist for her heart condition. May Lord Jesus help and bless Keysha, so everything goes smoothly. Right now, Keysha urgently needs a stroller, as her mother struggles when using an NGT for feeding while at the hospital. Anyone willing to help Keysha can contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

Update 11/10/24:

Keysha has returned home and will come back for a follow-up with the neurologist, while waiting for further instructions. The charity, Berkat Ambon, helps each month to provide food for Keysha's mother and cover Keysha's basic needs.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donates through Berkat Ambon, enabling us to support our brothers and sisters in need. May Jesus bless and love us all.

Update 11/11/24:

Praise the Lord, Keysha’s seizures have started to lessen. After a check-up with the neurologist, it was determined that Keysha still needs an EEG to identify the cause of the seizures, as well as an MRI for a more comprehensive diagnosis. Keysha has to replace the NGT (nasogastric tube) once a week. The doctor has not yet advised removing the NGT due to the amount of mucus Keysha still has, and the tube helps prevent choking. If Keysha is hospitalized, the NGT replacement is free, but if it’s just for a check-up, the NGT has to be purchased independently for Rp. 275,000.

Those who wish to support Keysha's needs can reach out to Berkat Ambon via Messenger. We deeply appreciate all prayers from our brothers and sisters to help Keysha. May God provide strength and good health to Keysha's mother, enabling her to continue supporting Keysha. We trust that God’s help will bring healing and restoration to Keysha. May the medical team, including both the neurologist and cardiologist, be granted wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to care for Keysha effectively.
