Josias Latumeten

Updated: Nov 22

Berkat Ambon volunteers received information and immediately visited the home of Mrs. Yuni Latumeten (59 years old) and Mr. Josias Latumeten (64 years old), bringing donations for their needs. Several years ago, Mrs. Yuni was diagnosed with diabetes, which has now caused an open wound on the sole of her right foot. Mr. Josias has also suffered from diabetes for several years. His foot was once injured by metal, which led to an infection. Because of very limited financial resources, they have not been able to receive proper treatment. As a result, Mr. Josias had to undergo amputation of his right leg from below the knee. He has a deep longing to be able to receive a prosthetic leg so he can carry out his activities better.

Although Mrs. Yuni is also struggling with her foot condition, she still tries to do small-scale work to provide for their daily needs. We pray that Mrs. Yuni and Mr. Josias may receive healing. For those who would like to share love and support with the Latumeten family, you may contact Berkat Ambon Messenger. May God bless us all.

Update 11/20/25:

Berkat Ambon volunteers once again visited the family of Mr. Yosias and Mrs. Yuni Latumeten to see their condition firsthand and delivered donations including rice, eggs, and other daily necessities to help support them. Several years ago, Mr. Yosias’s leg had to be amputated after an accident in which his leg was struck by metal and became infected. He is now only able to move around using a wheelchair. Mr. Yosias hopes to one day have a prosthetic leg so he can be more active again.

Mrs. Yuni has been suffering from diabetes for several years, and her leg is now at risk of amputation because the sole of her foot has developed an open hole. Due to their very limited financial situation, she has not been able to receive proper medical care and can only undergo basic treatment. Mrs. Yuni runs a small business just to support their daily needs. Let us pray that God will help provide for all the needs of this family and that Mrs. Yuni can receive proper medical treatment.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
