After receiving the message, volunteers from the organization Berkat Ambon visited Mr. Fransicus X. Onyaresepan, born in Ambon on June 5, 1967, who is currently suffering from end-stage kidney failure.
Mr. Frans worked daily as a public minibus (angkot) driver. In March 2025, while driving, he suddenly felt extremely tired and went home, but then severe pain developed to the point that he could no longer walk. He had to be carried while looking for transportation to the nearest hospital. After medical examinations, doctors recommended that he receive four bags of blood transfusion and be referred to another hospital with more complete medical facilities.
However, because of financial limitations, the blood transfusion had to be delayed until they could gather enough money to go to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), where he eventually received three bags of blood. During the third transfusion, Mr. Frans collapsed and lost consciousness. After regaining consciousness, he was transferred to a referral hospital with more complete medical equipment.
On March 10, Mr. Frans underwent dialysis for the first time. During the procedure, he fainted and even fell into a coma for two days. Doctors advised that he must undergo dialysis twice a week. Since then, he has frequently gone in and out of the hospital and is now unable to work, remaining at home.
To support the family’s needs, his wife, Yufita Melsasail (50 years old), and their child who recently graduated from high school now work at a restaurant. Mr. Frans sometimes has to postpone dialysis because of transportation costs, and even blood tests to check his hemoglobin levels, which cost around 140,000 rupiah, are delayed because the family cannot afford them. His wife is currently working hard to provide for the family and cover Mr. Frans’s medical expenses. Their daughter, Ita, who recently graduated from high school, is also helping her mother support the family’s needs, while there is still one younger sibling in the second grade of elementary school.
For brothers and sisters who would like to share love and help ease the burden on Mr. Frans’s family, please contact the Berkat Ambon Messenger account. The volunteers shared the promises of Lord Jesus and prayed together with Mr. Frans and his family. What Lord Jesus desires is for every person to know Him and for the power of His resurrection to be made real in their lives.
Update 6/1/26:

Berkat Ambon volunteers delivered a donation for Mr. Fransiscus Onyaresepan, which was received by his wife to help cover transportation costs to the hospital.
Mr. Fransiscus has been scheduled by his doctors to undergo dialysis twice a week. However, there are times when he has had to postpone his hospital visits because he does not have enough money for transportation. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all brothers and sisters who continue to donate through Berkat Ambon, enabling us to share God’s blessings and assist those in need. May the Lord Jesus bless each of you with good health and keep you and your loved ones safe and well.
At present, Mr. Fransiscus is no longer able to work as he once did as a public transportation driver (angkot driver) because his condition has left him very weak and easily fatigued.
We sincerely ask for your prayers for Mr. Fransiscus. We firmly believe that the Lord Jesus is alive, hears our prayers, and is able to work miracles in every situation.
