From the information we received, Berkat Ambon volunteers visited Grimaldry Valendro Nanuru, age 1 year and 5 months old, in Lateri to assess his condition. According to the doctor, he has a cyst in his bile duct, which has caused his stomach to swell, his eyes to turn yellow, and he has difficulty with bowel movements.
Grimaldry needs to be referred to Jakarta for more intensive care, but there are challenges with transportation costs to Jakarta and other expenses. Let’s come together, offer support, and pray for Grimaldry so that he can recover and enjoy the joy of his childhood again. For those who want to help, you can contact us through Berkat Ambon Messenger. May the Lord Jesus bless us all!
Update 5/18/25:

Berkat Ambon received a message regarding baby Grimaldry Valendro Nanuru, born on April 12, 2023. He was previously taken to Jakarta for medical examination, where doctors diagnosed him with a cyst in the gallbladder, along with swelling of the liver and heart, which has caused abdominal bloating.
When Valen was scheduled for an MRI, the machine to be used was broken, and the hospital advised them to return in August. Valen and his mother have been back in Ambon since March. They are planning to return to Jakarta to continue his medical examinations. Prior to that, Valen had been examined in Ambon, but due to limited medical equipment, he was referred outside the region. At present, Valen needs financial support to return to Jakarta for further tests, as well as for daily needs such as milk and diapers. For anyone who would like to share love and support for baby Valendro, please contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.
Update 5/21/25:

Berkat Ambon visited again and brought donations in the form of diapers and funds to help purchase milk for Valendro Nanuru. According to the doctor’s instructions, Valendro will have a follow-up check-up on May 11 and must be referred to another hospital for further treatment. He is being referred to Jakarta, as the doctor has diagnosed swelling in the liver and heart, which has caused his stomach to become bloated.
Valendro continues to undergo medical examinations in Ambon, but the doctor has advised referral to Jakarta, as they are not confident in proceeding with surgery locally due to the high risk. May the Lord Jesus help and make a way for all of Valendro’s needs.
Update 7/31/25:

Berkat Ambon volunteers visited Grimaldry Valendro Nanuru again, who is currently being treated in the hospital, bringing donations to help with his needs.
Due to his illness, Valen is experiencing severe itching and a slightly swollen abdomen. If the Lord wills, in the coming days he will undergo surgery to remove the cyst in his abdomen. For the surgical procedure, approximately 4 bags of fresh AB+ blood are needed. If anyone is willing and able to donate AB+ blood, please contact Berkat Ambon or the family directly.
Update 8/16/25:

Berkat Ambon extends our deepest condolences to the family of Grimaldry Valendro Nanuru, who has passed away after being in this world for 2 years and 4 months. All efforts have been made to the best of the abilities of the doctors, medical staff, and family. Berkat Ambon also supported the needs and treatment, but it is God who ultimately chose to call Valendro home. Our prayers are that God will grant strength and comfort to the parents and family left behind. Farewell, Valendro.
