Based on information received by Berkat Ambon, our volunteers visited Mr. Steven Maulany, commonly known as “Bu Nyong,” aged 51, who lives in Air Slobar and works as a school caretaker.

Mr. Steven has been suffering from an internal goiter, a persistent cough, and severe pain in his lower abdomen, which eventually required him to be hospitalized.

He is being accompanied by his beloved wife, Mrs. Jubelina Waas, known as “Usi Ince,” aged 47, who works as a street sweeper. Together, they have three children.

At this time, the family is facing financial challenges. They need assistance with daily expenses, food for the caregiver accompanying Mr. Steven, transportation costs, and support for their children, as both parents are currently unable to work due to Mr. Steven’s illness. We pray that the Lord Jesus will touch and heal Mr. Steven completely and provide for every need of him and his family in His miraculous way.

Update 6/5/26:

Praise the Lord Jesus, today the volunteers from Berkat Ambon were able to deliver donations to Mr. Steven and Mr. Berthy.

Mr. Steven has been permitted to return home from the hospital. According to the doctor, the thyroid condition he is suffering from is internal and does not require surgery. However, he is still experiencing weakness, so his wife is helping by cleaning the school where they work.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
