M. Fatih

Updated: Dec 20, 2024

Based on the information we received, we visited Mr. M. Fatih, born in Rembang on February 20, 1976, who works as a scrap metal collector. Mr. Fatih, along with his wife, Mrs. Minarsih, came to the Tanimbar Islands Regency (KKT) to work collecting scrap metal for resale. Their oldest child is a university student, the second is in junior high school (in a pesantren), and their youngest, who is in first grade, is staying with their grandmother.

While working to collect scrap metal in Lorulun Village, Wertamrian District, Tanimbar Islands Regency, Mr. Fatih was involved in an accident. He was treated at the local hospital because he was in a coma and eventually referred to Ambon by sea. During the three-day journey to Ambon, he regained consciousness but experienced memory loss. After undergoing treatment in Ambon, his injuries from the accident have healed, but he still cannot eat, and his urine is mixed with blood.

His BPJS health insurance will only become active on December 1, and the medical bills for nearly three weeks of treatment have already reached approximately 50 million IDR. From Jasa Raharja, he received 20 million IDR, with 2.5 million IDR deducted for treatment costs at the hospital in MBD, leaving 17.5 million IDR (approx. $1,105) remaining. He has no family in Ambon and is the sole breadwinner for his family in Java. Mr. Fatih urgently needs assistance to cover the remaining hospital expenses, as well as for his basic needs, such as diapers and tissues. Due to the accident that caused memory loss, and his three-week stay in Ambon, the family’s source of income has been completely cut off, affecting not only Mr. Fatih but also his children. Prayers from many will bring a significant change to Mr. Fatih’s condition. May God also grant good health and strength to his beloved wife, Mrs. Minarsih, as she patiently supports her husband during this difficult time.

We and the family urgently need prayers and financial assistance to help ease the burden of Mr. Fatih's medical expenses. For those who wish to help, you can contact Berkat Ambon's messenger.

Update 12/13/24:

Praise the Lord, Mr. Fatih has been allowed to go home, and the hospital expenses for Mr. Fatih, which were not covered by BPJS due to a traffic accident, have been resolved. Currently, Mr. Fatih and his wife are staying in daily-rental accommodations near the hospital, with plans to return to Bursel after Mr. Fatih undergoes surgery. As of now, Mr. Fatih's urine still contains blood. Our prayers are with him for a speedy recovery so he can return to work and support his family’s needs.
