Johanis Bille

Updated: Apr 9

Berkat Ambon visited baby Johanis Bille, who was born in Lorulun on October 24, 2024. According to the local doctor's diagnosis, Jo has a severe infection in the meninges, a lung infection, and a cystic lump. In his hometown, Jo was repeatedly hospitalized until he was finally referred for treatment outside the area. However, due to financial limitations, his parents chose to stay in Ambon. Jo is currently still being treated and cannot sleep in a normal position like other children because of his condition.

Jo's father, Paternus Bille (34 years old), used to work as a motorcycle taxi driver in their village. Right now, he and Jo’s mother, Robeka Fany R. Kobis (33 years old), are accompanying Jo, meaning they have no source of income. By God's grace and love, we have supported them in covering Jo's medical expenses, which are not covered by BPJS. Since January 9, they have been in Ambon, and they also need daily necessities, including food, diapers, wet tissues, and dry tissues. Jo’s parents continue to seek the mercy of the Lord Jesus and deeply need prayers from everyone reading this post. If God has helped Jo through critical moments since birth until now, the same God will continue to be with them and provide for everything they need.

Update 1/29/25:

The Berkat Ambon volunteers brought a donation of 500,000 IDR from Pastor Irene Mussa, which has been a great help in meeting Baby Jo's needs, as well as supporting his companion at the hospital.

We humbly ask for prayers from all for Baby Jo’s healing. For those who would like to help Baby Jo and support our ministry, you can contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

Update 2/5/25:

This month, we were able to purchase necessities for little Jo, including milk, diapers, and eucalyptus oil. Today, Jo had a follow-up check-up with the doctor, and praise the Lord, the lump has reduced, and according to the doctor, it will continue to decrease. The congenital abnormality in Jo’s throat, which has caused him to drink milk and then vomit, is expected to heal on its own by the time he turns two years old. Over the next six months, Jo will need regular follow-ups with the doctor.

Jo’s vomiting now also expels phlegm, preventing breathing difficulties. All of this is only possible because of the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Through the prayers of many, Jo can now breathe like a healthy child. While Jo and his parents are in Ambon, they need financial support for both Jo’s needs and their living expenses, as his father has not yet found a job in Ambon. For brothers and sisters who wish to donate to support Jo and his parents, you can contact the Berkat Ambon Messenger. May the Lord Jesus bless you.

Update 2/6/25:

Johanie Bille, a patient with a congenital neck disorder and intestinal complications, was initially referred to Ambon Hospital for treatment. However, since being discharged, Jo has been experiencing a high fever and continuous vomiting.

Currently, Jo and his parents are staying in a rented room, and their living expenses continue to accumulate. Praise the Lord, Pastor Irene and the congregation have helped with food supplies, while Berkat Ambon has assisted with other necessities.

Later that night, Johanis Bille has been readmitted to the hospital due to a fever and persistent vomiting after every meal. Jo drinks milk, but as soon as he finishes, he vomits it back up. After receiving an IV drip, Jo was finally able to sleep peacefully. Jo was born in October 2024, and his weight has dropped from 3.1 kg to 2.9 kg. Let us continue to pray for Jo’s recovery and strength for his parents.

Baby Jo urgently needs milk, diapers, wet and dry tissues, and other essential items. For those who would like to support Jo, you can contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

Thank you so much for the prayers and donations given through Berkat Ambon, which continue to help those in need. May the Lord Jesus bless and care for us all.

Update 2/13/25:

Praise the Lord! Volunteers from Berkat Ambon visited little Johanis Bille (Jo), a 4-month-old baby from Lorulun-Saumlaki, who is suffering from a brain and lung infection. Jo has not yet recovered, but the hospital has instructed that he be cared for at home. He often has to be rushed back to the hospital due to breathing difficulties and other complications. Jo urgently needs a special SGM formula milk recommended by the doctor.

Volunteers from Berkat Ambon have brought milk and other essential supplies for him. Prayers and support from our brothers and sisters are greatly needed to help Jo recover.

If you would like to support Jo and our ministry, you can do so through Messenger Berkat Ambon. May the Lord Jesus bless us all.

Update 2/25/25:

Berkat Ambon volunteers have once again delivered donations, including diapers, wet tissues, and other essentials for baby Johanis Bille (Baby Jo), who is only 4 months old. According to Baby Jo’s parents, his condition is still unstable. He is now at home after traveling from Lorulun - Saumlaki some time ago with meningitis (infection of the brain lining), a lung infection, and a lump/cyst. Berkat Ambon continues to monitor Baby Jo’s condition closely.

Update 3/5/25:

The volunteers of Berkat Ambon have once again visited and brought donations, including milk, diapers, wet and dry tissues, to support little Johanis Bille for a month. Baby Jo, who is now a little over 4 months old, came from Lorulun Village - Saumlaki to Ambon at the end of January for treatment due to a severe brain membrane infection, a lung infection, and a lump.

Thankfully, Baby Jo’s condition is improving, but he cannot return home yet as he is still under medical supervision. His parents had to leave their jobs in the village to fully focus on taking care of him, making their financial situation very difficult.

We kindly ask for your prayers and support so that Baby Jo can recover soon and return to his hometown with his family.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
