Omy Sopacua

Updated: Jul 8

ree

Based on information we received from a ministry worker serving in the area where Mother Omy Sopacua (72 years old) lives, a Berkat Ambon volunteer visited her. She has been diagnosed by a doctor with breast cancer, and the doctor recommended a referral for chemotherapy and surgery. However, Mother Omy has declined both chemotherapy and surgery.

The lump has already spread to her armpit and shoulder area. Despite this, Mother Omy remains optimistic and full of faith, believing that the Lord Jesus has already helped and healed her. We prayed with her and shared the truth of God's Word, which she deeply believes in. We are confident that the prayers of many will change Mother Omy’s condition. We firmly believe that the Lord Jesus sees, hears, and cares for Mother Omy and all of our prayers. We pray that the Lord Jesus grants good health so that her children and grandchildren may continue faithfully serving this beloved mother.

Update 6/4/25:

After Sunday’s visit and prayer by the Berkat Ambon volunteers with Mrs. Omy, who was diagnosed by the doctor with a tumor, today the volunteers visited again and brought medical supplies, as well as milk, wet tissues, and dry tissues. After praying together, we asked how Mrs. Omy was feeling. She said she felt lighter — the pain she previously felt in the upper part of her body was gone. Only her lower back still hurt.

Thank you so much, dear brothers and sisters, for your continued support in prayer, because the prayer of many believers is powerful and effective. May the Lord Jesus love and bless us all. Thank you also to everyone who has donated through Berkat Ambon, allowing us to share with those in need.

Update 6/6/25: Volunteers from Berkat Ambon brought basic necessities and prayed together with Omy. We truly believe that the prayers of many people will greatly help Omy. The Lord Jesus is alive and able to heal and restore Omy.

Update 7/6/25:

Berkat Ambon volunteers brought basic food supplies for Mrs. Omy, but Mrs. Omy was admitted to the hospital. The volunteers planned to visit her at the hospital the next day, but she had already been allowed to go home. Berkat Ambon shared love by giving the supplies to Mrs. Omy to help with her daily needs.

Mrs. Omy is suffering from breast cancer and was advised to undergo chemotherapy outside of Ambon, but she decided to stay in Ambon and just pray. Thank you so much to all the brothers and sisters who always pray for the patients served by Berkat Ambon and who have donated to support Berkat Ambon's ministry. May Lord Jesus love and bless us all.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
