Johan Fakih

Updated: Jun 21

Mr. Johan Fakih, born in Banda on June 13, 1957, was previously supported by Berkat Ambon with plans for surgery. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the procedure was postponed. After being contacted again, we revisited Mr. Johan Fakih, who has been experiencing a growing lump in his neck. This has caused tension in his neck and head.

Mr. Fakih resides in Kayu Tiga with his wife, Elizabeth Maluntoh, one child, and a grandchild. Despite his condition, he continues to work as a broadcaster at Radio DMS Ambon. His family is hopeful that he can undergo surgery soon, relieving the tension in his neck and head. Tomorrow, arrangements will be made for a referral through the local BPJS, and he will be referred to a hospital for surgery scheduling. We kindly ask for your prayers, dear brothers and sisters, for Mr. Johan Fakih's healing and successful surgery.

Update 1/14/25: Today, we accompanied Mr. Johan Fakih to the surgeon, who referred him to an oncologist. Mr. John will proceed with an oncologist for further examination to determine the next steps. Since 2020, Mr. John was supposed to have surgery, but it was delayed due to the pandemic. Now, Mr. John is preparing to continue with the surgery.

May the Lord Jesus help Mr. John and grant wisdom and increased knowledge to the medical team handling his case so they can provide the best care for him.

Update 1/16/25:

Today, Mr. John met with the oncologist and underwent a CT scan. He will return on Tuesday to receive the results and determine the next steps for his treatment. Many are praying for Mr. John. May the Lord Jesus intervene in every step of this process until it is completed. Berkat Ambon provided assistance for transportation. Stay strong, Mr. John; all our prayers are with you.

Update 1/28/25:

Mr. Johan Fakih, a thyroid patient, received his blood test results today and met with the doctor. The decision regarding whether to proceed with surgery or not has been left to Mr. Johan and his family, as both options come with risks.

Our prayers are with him—may the Lord Jesus, who has already borne all sickness and weakness, bring healing and strength. For those who believe in Him, His healing power will manifest in their lives.

Update 2/1/25:

Pak Johan has undergone all the necessary medical procedures as advised by the doctor, and the examination results have been shared with him. The doctor has also explained the planned surgery along with its risks. However, a lump has also developed in his lungs, and Pak Johan has decided not to proceed with the surgery.

We believe that the Lord Jesus is able to heal, whether through surgery or without it. The prayers of many can also change Pa Johan’s situation.

Despite his condition, Pa Johan continues to carry out his duties as a radio broadcaster. May the Lord Jesus give him strength and encouragement.

Update 2/17/25:

Praise the Lord! Today, Berkat Ambon volunteers once again visited Mr. Johan Fakih, 67 years old, who has been suffering from a lump on his left neck for a long time, which is now growing larger. Due to economic difficulties, Mr. Johan is struggling with his daily needs, and Berkat Ambon volunteers have provided donations to support him.

The volunteers have accompanied Mr. Johan several times for medical check-ups, but the doctor has deemed surgery too risky. Feeling hopeless, Mr. Johan has resigned himself to his condition.

Currently, he urgently needs Subarkasih Soup and Utsukushhii supplements, which cost approximately 3.6 million IDR, to help treat the growing lump. We pray that God will open the way to provide everything needed for Mr. Johan’s healing.

Berkat Ambon visit and prayer together with Mr. John Fakih. We also shared love by bringing groceries for Mr. John. According to his wife, the lump used to be large and shiny, but now it no longer appears shiny and has somewhat reduced in size. Praise the Lord Jesus — the prayers of many are bringing significant changes to Mr. John Fakih’s body. The Lord Jesus hears all of our prayers and answers them.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
