Marthen Loupatty

Updated: Sep 9

ree

We received information from the family that the Berkat Ambon volunteers visited the Loupatty family’s home, where Mr. Marthen, aged 61, is suffering from a tumor attached to his vocal cords. In October 2024, he was referred to Makassar to undergo surgery to remove the tumor and his vocal cords in his throat. As a result, he is currently unable to speak through his mouth, and he has to breathe through a hole in his throat. He continues to have regular check-ups with the doctor to ensure that the hole in his throat does not become smaller or close up. At this time, they are facing financial difficulties and are hoping that Mr. Marthen can have a speech aid device, which costs approximately 15 million Rupiah. Let us pray that God will open the way for him to have this speech aid. For anyone who feels moved to help Mr. Marthen, you can contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

Update 9/6/25:

The Berkat Ambon volunteers once again visited Mr. Marthen Loupatty, bringing a donation to help with transportation costs so he can see a specialist doctor for a follow-up check on the device still attached to his neck after his vocal cord surgery some time ago. Mr. Marthen has been feeling uncomfortable with the device, so he needs to consult an ENT specialist. He also needs to have regular check-ups with the doctor, but often cancels his visits because he does not have the funds for transportation and other expenses. Mr. Marthen longs to one day have a voice aid device, which costs around Rp.14 million. Let us pray for Mr. Marthen’s health and that God will make a way to fulfill his desire.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
