The Berkat Ambon volunteers received information and immediately went to visit and see firsthand the condition of Miss Jelita S. Mahulette, 16 years old, who has suffered from a congenital heart defect since birth. Because of the family’s very limited economic situation—her father is only a simple construction worker—Miss Jelita has not been able to receive adequate medical care. Some time ago, Miss Jelita was admitted to the hospital. When she eats, her heart often takes longer to pump blood, causing her skin to turn bluish.
The doctor advised that Miss Jelita should be referred to Jakarta as soon as possible so she can be treated directly by a heart specialist. However, once again, financial limitations are a major obstacle, and the family also has no relatives in Jakarta who can provide temporary housing.
We pray that God will open a way and prepare everything needed so that Miss Jelita can receive proper medical treatment, experience healing, and enjoy her joyful days. For brothers and sisters whose hearts are moved to help Miss Jelita Mahulette, you may contact the Berkat Ambon Messenger. May God bless us all.
Update 11/19/25:

Update on patient Jelita S. Mahulette, who has suffered from a heart leakage condition since birth. At 1.5 years old, she underwent surgery with assistance from a heart foundation, and the doctor advised that she should return a year later for a second surgery. However, when the same foundation was contacted, they responded that they were unable to take her case due to the large number of patients needing treatment. Because of financial limitations, Jelita was unable to proceed with the second surgery.
Currently, Jelita is experiencing health problems due to her heart condition, which causes her to tire easily and have shortness of breath. She has received a referral from the doctor for further examinations in Jakarta, and if possible, she may undergo heart surgery.
At this time, Jelita needs funds for travel tickets for herself and one accompanying guardian, as well as a place to stay during her treatment in Jakarta. Berkat Ambon has contacted several temporary housing facilities, but they are full. We will continue reaching out to others in hopes that someone can receive Jelita during her treatment. May the Lord Jesus open the door to a place where Jelita can stay, as well as provide the tickets for Jelita and her companion. Nothing is impossible for the Lord Jesus. For brothers and sisters who wish to share love and support Berkat Ambon’s ministry, you may contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger. May the Lord Jesus love and bless us all.
Update 11/20/25: Praise the Lord Jesus! Tomorrow morning, Jelita and her mother will depart for her follow-up surgery. Berkat Ambon has contacted the management of the Lions Shelter, and a place has already been prepared for Jelita. Thank you as well to the NN family in Ambon who donated tickets for Jelita and her mother, and to sister JE who donated Rp. 150,000 to help Jelita. May the Lord Jesus bless all brothers and sisters who have shown their care.
Update 12/2/25:

Praise the Lord, Jelita is already in Jakarta and has gone to the hospital for examinations and an X-ray, and today she had an echocardiogram. The doctor will later determine when she can undergo surgery. Because of the high number of patients and the doctor’s plan to travel home, the surgery will likely be scheduled next year. Let us all pray that Lord Jesus gives the best for Jelita and that all processes go smoothly.
Update 12/19/25: Jelita’s father worked hard to obtain tickets for Jelita and her mother to go to Jakarta, and Berkat Ambon helped find a place for them to stay during treatment in Jakarta. After undergoing various examinations, it turned out that Jelita’s illness was not only related to her heart; because it had gone untreated for a long time, it had also affected her lungs. The doctors recommended that her lung condition be treated first for six months before her heart condition could be addressed. Jelita and her mother will return to Ambon first. May the Lord Jesus help Jelita, and may her heart and lungs be fully restored in the name of the Lord Jesus. Brothers and sisters who wish to help with the cost of Jelita and her mother’s return trip may contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger. May the Lord Jesus bless and provide abundantly for all of us so that we may share with one another.
Update 12/21/25:

We ask for prayer support for Jelita Mahulette, who was admitted to the hospital again today and hospitalized due to shortness of breath. Berkat Ambon has purchased return tickets to Ambon for Jelita and her mother, as the doctors advised that her lung treatment must be prioritized first. The doctor has also provided prescriptions for her medications, and in six months she is to return for treatment of Jelita’s heart condition.
Jelita, her mother, and all of us greatly hope for prayer support from all brothers and sisters, so that Jelita may regain her health and be able to return to Ambon safely and in good condition. Thank you for all donations that has been given thus far.
Update 1/4/26:

Praise the Lord Jesus. Jelita Mahulete departed from Jakarta on December 29, 2025, and arrived in Ambon in the early morning of January 3, 2025. There was medication that had to be purchased without BPJS coverage, costing 2.9 million rupiah, and the family has made efforts to pay for it.
Jelita continues to take her program medications, and if God is willing, she will return in April to undergo her heart catheterization. Before returning to Ambon, Jelita was briefly hospitalized again because of shortness of breath. Thank you, dear brothers and sisters, for all your prayers for Jelita, so that she has been able to go through all these processes. We pray together, asking for the mercy of the Lord Jesus and for His power to heal and restore Jelita.
Update 1/8/26: Today, Jelita had another follow-up appointment and was prescribed three medications. However, one of the medicines, which contains 90 tablets, is not covered by BPJS and costs 3.8 million rupiah. The medication brought from Jakarta is almost finished, and Jelita must not stop her lung program medication, because her lungs need to recover in order for the next steps in her heart treatment to be carried out. Brothers and sisters who wish to share love to help with the purchase of Jelita’s medication may contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger. The Lord Jesus, in His miraculous ways, will surely help Jelita.
