Amel Yampapi

Updated: May 25

From the information received, Berkat Ambon volunteers visited Amel Yampapi, born in Elat on August 25, 1986 (39 years old). Amel is an orphan and currently lives with a family in Kudamati Farmasi Atas.

In 2023, Amel was once taken for a medical check-up and was diagnosed by the doctor with a tumor in her abdomen, which has caused significant swelling. Until now, Amel has not had the courage to go for further examination due to her BPJS (national health insurance) being unpaid since 2023.

Amel was born healthy, but recently she has begun experiencing delays in responding to things. Today, we attempted to check her BPJS status, but there was no data found. Tomorrow, we will try to bring Amel to the local health center (Puskesmas), hoping she can be served and referred for hospital examination. May the Lord Jesus help Amel and open the way for her. For those who would like to share love and support to help Amel get a hospital referral for a full examination, please contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger.

Update 5/20/25: The volunteers also accompanied Amel Yampapi to the local health center (Puskesmas), and the doctor advised that she must be taken to the hospital immediately for further examination, as Amel's skin has started to turn yellow. Tomorrow, the volunteers will accompany Amel for her hospital check-up.

Update 5/21/25:

Praise the Lord! Yesterday we went to the community health clinic to request a referral for Amel’s medical examination, and we found out that her BPJS (health insurance) is still active. Today, we continued to the hospital for her specialist appointment, and Amel will return tomorrow for an X-ray. While at the hospital, Amel experienced severe abdominal pain. Her stomach has become enlarged and hardened, causing her great discomfort.

May the Lord Jesus help Amel receive proper care here in Ambon. Amel is an orphan and has some difficulties in responding to conversations. May the Lord Jesus love and bless Amel always. May new blessings be poured out upon her. Berkat Ambon is assisting with transportation for Amel and her companion from Kudamati Pharmacy to the hospital. For anyone who feels moved to share love and support with Amel, please contact the Berkat Ambon messenger.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
